Fees & Process

Step 1) WorkWest Application
Students and recent graduates are paired with our Educational and Cultural Consultants at WorkWest to determine their eligibility. Next they interview with our native English speaking management team to assess their English abilities assist them in deciding the best possible placement for them. After learning about the variety of positions available in the USA and deciding to join the program, non-refundable application fee of 5,000,000 VND is paid.

Step 2) Job placement
The next step is creating a professional resume with our Educational and Cultural Consultants that is designed specifically for the Internship program. After consulting with the intern about job openings, an interview with an employer in the USA will be arranged via Skype. WorkWest’s Educational and Cultural Consultants will assist the intern with preparing for their interview. After the employer has interviewed the intern, our Educational and Cultural Consultants will provide them with the results of the interview. If accepted, a fee of 45,000,000 VND is paid. If the intern is not accepted, they will have the opportunity to interview with another employer.
Step 3) Sponsor application
After reserving the job, a detailed training plan will be created by our Internship and Training Program Manager to ensure that the intern gets a valuable experience while working in the USA. The training plan offers different positions and duties throughout the 12 months the intern will be working in the USA, so that they will learn many different components of the hospitality industry. The intern must then interview with a sponsor in the USA via Skype. The sponsor is the agency that hosts their Visa. Once the intern passes their interview with a sponsor, they will pay the remaining program fee of 69,000,000 VND.
Step 4) Visa processing
The final interview is with the United States Embassy for the intern’s J-1 Visa to the USA. Our Educational and Cultural Consultants will reserve a Visa appointment and assist the intern in preparing for their Visa interview. Interns will know their Visa interview results immediately after their interview. If interns are denied a Visa, they will have the option to re-interview for an additional charge.
Step 5) Departure preparation / Orientation / Arrival
Once accepted, it is time to prepare to go to the USA! Our Educational and Cultural Consultants will assist interns in reserving their flight (not included in the program fee) and then conduct a pre-departure orientation with them, to help them prepare for all steps they must follow to comply with their J-1 Visa. WorkWest will arrange with the employer for the intern to be picked up and taken to their housing that has been arranged for them.

Upon arrival, the intern must complete 3 extremely important steps:

* Check-in the SEVIS system on the sponsor and WorkWest site (within 5 days of arrival).

* Apply for a Social Security number (within 10 days of arrival)

*Open a bank account in the USA.

Our Educational and Cultural Consultants will explain these steps in depth before departing to the USA. Our In USA Support will be in contact with all interns upon their arrival to the USA and assist them with these steps, along with anything else they may need while abroad.
Step 6) Participant Support Abroad
Throughout their time in the USA, interns will have support from WorkWest in USA, their home country, as well as from their sponsor in the USA to ensure that they have the best experience possible. Once interns have completed 12 months at their job, they are able to stay in the USA for one additional month to travel.
Step 7) Return to home country and after program support
Upon return to their home country, WorkWest will contact the intern to assure that they arrived safely and send proof of their arrival (a photo of their passport stamp) to their sponsor in the USA. Our in USA support will also provide the intern with information on how to apply to get the federal and state income taxes that they paid while working in the USA refunded to them.

Our Educational and Cultural Consultants will follow up with the intern to assure that everything has been completed and introduce them to other great programs they may qualify for with WorkWest!
